CCB sleuths arrest two, seize pistol

The Central Crime Branch sleuths on Friday arrested two persons and recovered a country-made pistol and three live rounds and cartridges from them.

The arrested are Usman Rafiq (28), a habitual offender involved in a murder, three attempts to murder and a robbery case, his associate Ahmed Kabir (26), a resident of Bhoopasandra and a native of Kasargod in Kerala.

According to the sleuths, a police time raided a spot near Bhoopasandra railway gate based on a credible tip-off and arrested the duo who was trying to sell the country-made weapon.

The police have taken them into custody to ascertain the source of weapons as well as their contacts whom they were trying to sell the weapons to.
