JOIN USLeader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar observed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was planning to contest from two constituencies due to the fear of defeat.
"Not just two seats, even if he contests from one more seat, people will reject him," he said.
When asked about TRS supporting the JD(S) and efforts to form the third front, Shettar stated those who do not have strength in the State are supporting the JD(S), and that would not have any impact in the elections.
In reply to a recent survey which predicted hung Assembly, he noted that BJP is increasing its strength with the visits of Amit Shah and Narendra Modi, and it would win more than 150 seats. Siddaramaiah used to say that Congress would come back to power, and the survey also showed that Congress would not get the majority, he said.
Discontent among ticket aspirants is natural, and attempts are being made to console them, and they have to be disciplined in the party framework. Even if they contest polls as rebels, that would not have any impact, Shettar added.
MP Pralhad Joshi stated that Siddaramaiah planned to contest from Badami constituency, as he was afraid after State BJP President Yeddyurapa challenged that he would be defeated in Varuna or Chamundeshwari constituencies.
