BWSSB chief, forensic expert get 'death threats'

Last Updated 15 April 2018, 03:52 IST

BWSSB Chairman Tushar Girinath and court-commissioned forensic documents and handwriting expert Phaneendar B N have filed police complaints, saying they have been getting death threats.

While Girinath filed a complaint at the Halasuru Gate police station, Phaneendar approached the Parappana Agrahara police station which registered a non-cognisable report.

A court later ordered the cybercrime police to register an FIR. Police have formed a team to track down the suspects in both the cases.

The BWSSB chief said an unidentified person had written to his office, asking for clearing his bills within three months or else Girinath will be "eliminated". Police have taken the copy of the letter and are investigating it.

Phaneendra reported receiving threatening messages in Arabic and English on WhatsApp. He said an unidentified person had sent him a video, saying his head will be chopped off.

Phaneendra replied to him seeking to know why he wants to kill him, but the man didn't respond. "I have examined documents and handwriting samples in many cases.

Now, I get this threat," he told DH.
