Karnataka Emporium is organising an exhibition-cum-sale of traditional handloom and handicraft till May 10 at Hemachandra Sagar Kalyan Mantap, near Ashoka Pillar, 2nd block, Jayanagar from 10 am to 9 pm.

The exhibition has handcrafted silver jewellery, precious and semi-precious stones from Jaipur, Hyderabad pearls, handcrafted stone-studded bangles from Jaipur and Hyderabad, wood carvings from Mysore and UP, marble carvings from Agra, traditional wooden toys from Channapatnam, Banjara hand- embroidered articles from Andhra Pradesh, terracotta articles and jewellery from West Bengal, bandini sarees and dress materials from Rajasthan and Gujarat and various parts of India.

There will also be hand-stitched quilts from Rajasthan, ethnic tops and skirts from Gujarat, Ikkath silk and cotton sarees from Orissa and Andhra Pradesh, traditional Lepakshi
printed handloom sarees from North Karnataka, Kalamkari eco-friendly hand block printed dress materials from coastal Andhra Pradesh, elegant cotton kurthas for men from Jaipur and stoles and shawls from Kashmir on display.

Visitors can avail 10 per cent discount on handicraft and 20 per cent discount on handlooms.
Special attraction is the Mysore rosewood inlay, carved artifacts and Thanjavur paintings.
This initiative is taken by Karnataka Emporium to promote the development and marketing of the country’s artistic handicrafts and handlooms and preserve its cultural heritage.
