VTU 2002 batch demands more time

They are currently allowed to complete the backlogs from four year engineering courses in eight years. The protesters said candidates from 1998 scheme were given two extensions and allowed to complete their courses this year and therefore they too should be given the extension. There are 1,645 students, predominantly from rural areas in the 2002 scheme, who are yet to complete their courses.

Khincha assured the students that he would help them but added that the decision was not solely his prerogative. He asked for a week’s time to discuss the matter with VTU authorities. Students urged him to take the decision soon as the semester exams were scheduled to start from May 26.
