Legislator N H Shivashanakara Reddy expressed his displeasure  over the inefficiency of the excise officials in curbing the supply of spurious liquor in the taluk.

With Government banning liquor in the taluk, the supply of spurious liquor has increased in the taluk. But officials have failed to check this. Most of problems in the rural areas were solved through Janaspandana in the past eight months, he said and promised to take suitable measures to solve the remaining problems.
He added that the Deputy Commissioner was requested to grant permission to convert Vantibeedu land near Madanahalli into sites and allot the same for the shelterless in the City. He also promised to take action to disburse the sites as soon as the DC grants permission.

Town Municipal Council member K L Nagaswamy complained that parks in the City were encroached by the public and officials had failed to take action against them.

Responding to this complaint, the legislator directed the officials to take action to recover the encroached land and to install TMC sign boards on the parks.
