'KHDC posts Rs 4.5 crore profit'

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the felicitation programme organised as a part of the Choudeshwari annual festival at Kushalnagar on Friday, Lakshminarayana said that the Corporation, which was running with a loss of about Rs 75 crore due to the negligence of previous governments, has now been rejuvenated. He said that he will give emphasis for the overall development of weavers through the rejuvenation of the Corporation.
Government has given special emphasis to handloom industry by sanctioning loans at 3 per cent interest to weavers, he said.

State Devanga Sangha organising secretary Theerthappa, special officer to the Office of the Chief Minister B R Giriyappa, Shimoga Devanga Sangha President Rajesh, Town Panchayat Members D K Thimmappa, D S Yogesh, Madikeri Devanga Sangha President D P Vasudev, Devanga Sangha President D M Udayakumar were felicitated on the occasion.

Kushalnagar Devanga Sangha President D T Vijendra presided while secretary Govindaraj was present.
