Police say that it is revenge killing

According to police, Palini a labour contractor at Bharat Agarbatti Factory, Dayanand Nagar, was attacked by a group armed with machetes and daggers when he was having fruit juice with his friends. A grievously injured Palini died at the hospital.

According to police, the murder may be an act of revenge carried out by Satish, a PUC dropout from RKS Nagar,  whose father Narayan alias Matagar was allegedly murdered by Palani in 1998.

Satish, who was just 12 years old then, was an eye witness to that murder.
Ever since then, he was nursing the feeling to avenge his father's murder. Satish reportedly hatched the plan to eliminate Palani with the help of his friends Anil Kumar, Upadhyay, Sridhar, Srinivas and Poorna Chandra, police said. Srirampura police have registered a case.

Married woman hangs self

A 28-year-old woman, married for just 70 days, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her house in Sanjaynagar here on Friday, police said.

Vinaya allegedly hanged herself with a saree at her house in Geddalahalli around 12:30 pm. The victim, a native of Chikmagalur, was married to Nagaraj (31) who works as a medical representative.

Her father Narayanswamy told the police that Vinaya's in-laws were harassing her mentally. Unable to bear the harassment, she took the extreme step, police added. Nagaraj is in police custody but will be arrested formally later.

Sanjaynagar police have booked a case of abetting suicide against Nagaraj under Section 306 of the IPC.

1 held for assault

A 25-year-old house-keeper in a private company in Anand Rao Circle, who had allegedly assaulted his female colleague over a petty reason on Friday morning, was arrested by the police within 12 hours.

Venkatesh, a resident of Seshadripuram, had attacked Lakshmi (22), his colleague at Essilor Company in Brigade Plaza, after she refused to give her cell phone number to him. When she protested and refused, he allegedly assaulted her with machetes when she came to the office last morning, police added.

Fire in garment factory

Goods and equipment worth Rs 3.80 lakh were destroyed when a fire broke out in Trinity Apparels, a  garment factory, reportedly due to a short circuit on Avalahalli Main Road here early Saturday. Seven fire tenders and about 40 firemen took several hours to douse the fire. Cotton boxes, tables, machines, cloth and fabric rolls were destroyed.
Subramanyapura police have registered a case.

Laptops recovered

A 32-year-old man, who allegedly stole laptops from houses was arrested by the police in Kothanur and  eleven laptops worth Rs 4.60 lakh were recovered.

Police said Saleem Mohammad of Hegde Nagar had stolen the laptops from houses in R T Nagar, Bannerghatta Road, Whitefield, Shivajinagar, HBR Layout and Marathahalli.
