'Arbitration emerging alternative to courts'

Speaking at the programme, senior advocate said  arbitration has emerged as an alternative to the present legal system with increasing pendency of cases.

Elaborating on the alternative disrpute resolution method, advocate Prashanth said two parties involved in a dispute can chose a retired judge to settle the matter. The arbitrator gives a fair chance to both the parties to present their cases.  However, the award of the arbitrator can be challenged in the court. There was a question and answer session at the end.
