Ganja seized: Three held

 Inos, Susan, both 25, Ajit Kumar (18), and Pradeep Nayak (28), all from Orissa's Gajapati district, arrived at Yelahanka railway station by the Bhubaneshwar-Bangalore City Prashanti Express (Train No. 8463) carrying three bags which contained the banned substances.

Acting on a tip-off, the City Crime Branch's Women and Narcotics Squad raided the group when it was travelling on the railway station road. Three cell phones and three railway tickets were also recovered from them. Yelahanka police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. 

Boy killed in accident

A 14-year-old boy was killed on the spot when a lorry hit his bicycle and knocked him down in Dasarahalli here on Monday morning, police said.

B M Honne Gowda was cycling towards Yeshwanthpur when the lorry's rear wheels crushed him around 7:30 am. The deceased is the son of Manju B R of Dasarahalli.  Driver of the lorry fled. Peenya traffic police have booked a case of causing death by negligence and rash driving under Sections 304 (A), 279, 134 (B) read with Section 181of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
