Turning into a Mumbaikar?

The young actor is learning shudh Marathi to get into the skin of the character, from theatre actor Rahul Awate for his upcoming film, Arjun.

Even though Nikhil can speak Marathi, he wanted to get the correct twang or dialect, for which he sought help from Rahul. 

Nikhil will play the role of the protagonist Arjun Malvankar. Arjun, one of the cult classics of Bollywood, a realistic, raw and gritty film, which showcased the main protagonist Sunny Deol as Arjun Malvankar, the crusader for the youth is soon to be remade in a new avatar, featuring Nikhil Dwivedi.

Sources close to the developments say that though the concept and ethos of the film will be retained, the issues, treatment will be relevant and reflect the current times. The storyline is simply fantastic, in keeping with the trend of quality cinema that is being lapped up by the discerning audience.

Says Nikhil, “Yes, I am doing the remake of Arjun. The premise would be similar but the story would be completely different because the problems that we were facing in the mid 80’s aren’t relevant anymore as there has been a huge shift in the society.”
Nikhil Dwivedi will also be seen in a key role in the much-awaited film Raavan directed by acclaimed film-maker Mani Ratnam.
