When Lage Raho Munnabhai attained cult status, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, “I’ll keep Munna and Circuit alive till I die.” A tall claim! Now it seems that one of Bollywood’s most iconic onscreen characters, Munnabhai, has hit a road block.

Despite their best efforts, Bollywood’s award-winning writing team comprising Vidhu, Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijaat Joshi can’t find a way to take the Munnabhai sequel ahead.
What is worse is that despite Munnabhai being discussed everyday in the media, at this very moment, they are not even attempting to take this franchise further.

“No Munnabhai film is even being written,” confirms an insider.Munnabhai Chale America was supposed to be the third part in the series, but it got canned since My Name Is Khan had a similar concept. Sources say that now, the production team is suffering from a writer’s block.

However, Sanju Baba is still hopeful. When asked about the next release, the actor maintains the fact that it will be released in 2010 or mid 2011.
