This unique celebration is in practice in Kinnari village in the taluk. After the Bandi festival celebrated in Gindi Mayamayi temple in Kali Hinniru, the village elders get together for a meeting. Taking into consideration the high and low tide in the sea, they fix the day for the fishing festival. After the water completely recedes on that day, the whole village shouting slogans in the name of the god, start the fishing expedition.

The locals call this unique festival “Foundation Fadje.” A day before the fishing, the villagers gather, build a bund and collect water. A little quantity of water flows out after it is built.
The fish will be collected in the pond. After the day is fixed to get into the water, the message will passed on to the surrounding villages including Siddara, Devalamakkin and Kadavada villages.

If a few catch the fish using fishing nets others catch it putting their hands in the water. Even those who have settled outside will participate in the festival with eagerness.

Varieties of fish like kagalasi, sigidi, sevate, kurude and madle are available in large quantities.

Another main reason for celebrating this festival is to forget the differences and misunderstandings that might have cropped up over the year and to create a harmonious atmosphere so that every one can live in peace once again.
