Man bites off nose of wife's lover in fit of rage

According to police sources, the man, identified as Sanjay Mishra, was not on good terms with his wife Renu, a mother of two children, and used to live elsewhere.

Sanjay went to meet Renu on Thursday to wish her on the occasion of their anniversary but was shocked to find that a sub-divisional officer (SDO) of the power department J P N Singh was already there and having a party.

In a fit of rage Sanjay attacked the official and bit off his nose with his teeth. A profusely bleeding Singh was rushed to Medical College Hospital, said the police. Sanjay alleged that the SDO was having an affair with his wife and was responsible for their break-up.
Sanjay, who also suffered injuries in the scuffle, was arrested after Renu lodged an FIR with the police. Sanjay already faces a case under the Anti- Dowry Act filed by his wife.
