The task force headed by C S Vishwanath of Torsteel Research Foundation has no time frame for submitting the report and it has also been entrusted with the responsibility of submitting reports on inferior works.

This emerged after Chief Minster Yeddyurappa conducted a four-hour review meeting with the heads of various task forces on Monday.

Later briefing the the media, the CM said that markets would be opened in all the 174 taluks to sell organic produce.

He said, “I will also spend one hour with a family practicing organic farming on a designated day and interact with neighbours and locals  about the importance of organic farming.” Programmes on All India Radio will also be aired about organic farming, he added.

The Kaushalya melas held all over the State for employment has resulted in jobs for 23,046 people. Previously these melas were held in 19 places including Mysore, Mangalore, Hubli, Gulbarga and Belgaum. Now, 12 more such melas will be organised in the current year.

Mysore University and Karnatak University in Dharwad have been chosen to be developed as model universities. No guidelines have been developed as to how the State should go about it and the VCs of all the universities have been asked to submit their opinion on the matter. All universities have agreed to follow a common academic calendar.

The Government will be conducting a review, once in two months on the implementation of the Nanjundappa committee report. A database of 701 NRIs  has been created and and these people would be invited for the global investors meet.

The CM has called for a meeting of all Deputy Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers of Zilla Panchayats on Tuesday. The progress of all works in each district will be reviewed in this meeting.
