Two arrested, charas seized

Police said Nayaz (29) of Laggere and Akram Pasha (37) of Mandya had brought the narcotics from Mumbai and were attempting to sell it in the City. A case under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, has been booked against them.

Man held for murder

A 27-year-old manual labourer, who had allegedly stabbed a fellow worker to death after an argument over money, has been arrested.

Police said Shaikh Afsar alias Dawood (27) of Turuvekere taluk, Tumkur district, assaulted his co-labourer Shivalingam (55) with a knife on SR Road at 7.30 pm last Thursday. Shivalingam died on the spot and Afsar was abscounding after the incident.

Unidentified body found

A body of an unidentified man in his late 20s was found with stab injuries near Hebbal flyover here on Saturday morning.  Passersby informed the police about the body on the footpath near the left side of the flyover around 7.15 am.

Police suspect that the man was first suffocated with a cloth and later stabbed in the abdomen and the neck. The identity of the man is yet to be ascertained. Kodigehalli police have booked a case of murder.
