The topic for discussion is “Internet Intermediary Liability in India”. This year’s edition will see participation by several notable personalities including Justice Ravindra Bhatt, (Delhi High Court) for the judiciary, Dr Gulshan Rai, (Director General Indian Computer Emergency Response Team) and G R Raghavender, (Registrar of Copyrights and Under Secretary, MHRD) from the Government, Amitabh Lal Das (General Counsel, Yahoo! India) and Rahul Ajatshatru (Counsel, T-Series) to present the industry front, and Prof Gavin Sutter (Lecturer in Law, QMUL, University of London) Wendy Seltzer, (Fellow, Berkman Center, Harvard University) from academic circles.

The topic of intermediary liability has very recently burst upon the Indian technology law scene, demanding urgent attention, and has precipitated a hasty amendment to the Information Technology Act (2000), which will be a prime subject of focus in the conference.

It follows a host of experimental, legislative moves all over the world to combat the problem of cyber crime and tort, and focus liability.
