If there is one thing that Big Boss gave model-cum-actress Claudia Ciesla, it was a good platform to enter Indian cinema. Nobody including, she herself, had thought she would do a Kannada film. But here she was, in the City, confidently grooving to the tunes of the language which is completely alien to her. Quiz her a bit on the industry and she aptly replies, “I know the industry comes out with around 100 movies a year. That itself is so impressive. In fact, it is bigger than the German film industry.”

Two days in the City and she had already picked up one sentence which she proudly says — “Naanu ninna best friend,” (“I am your best friend”) and adds, “I am playing the heroine’s best friend in the film, Private Number. Incidentally, the movie is being directed by Anand Kumar, who is the husband of my best friend-cum-neighbour in Mumbai. Since it’s a thriller, I can’t say much about the film but I will surprise the audience at the end of the movie.”

Claudia’s love for the camera started ever since she was 15 years of age — that’s when she started modelling. Wanting a little more growth in her career and a different experience, she took up the reality show, Big Boss. The show saw Claudia struggling with the language and a ‘romance’ brewing between her and fellow housemate, Pravesh. “The entire Big Boss experience put us all under a lot of mental pressure which pushed us to do many things. Pravesh was only a good friend who I could really speak to openly.

The makers portrayed whatever they wanted to and never showed half of the things that went on in the house. So I really can’t blame the audience who thought we were in a relationship,” she explains. Friends, she says are very important, and she makes it a point to meet all her housemates on a regular basis, “including Pravesh,” she states.
So are things getting really serious between the two? “Right now, I am at that point where I have no time for myself. So a relationship is a far off plan. He is a great guy, but nothing is going on between us. But someday, I would like to settle down and share my life with a special someone,” she says.

As for the future, Claudia faces it with a realistic approach. “I know I will not get lead roles being the way I am. But things are looking up for foreigners in Indian movies and the scope is increasing. Till then, I am happy with the way things are turning out,” she signs off.
