Olympian Randhawa becomes member of NADA, SAI

The olympian has also been made a member of the governing council of the Sports Authority of India (SAI).NADA's appeals panel consist of a judge and three members.

Randhawa had won gold medal at the 1962 Asian Games in decathlon and had participated in 1960 and 1964 Olympics in 110 hurdles, high jump and decathlon.He finished fifth in 110 hurdles at 1964 Tokyo Olympics with timing of 14.07 seconds and was honoured with Arjuna Award in 1961 and with Padma Shri in 2005.He was in December last year bestowed with an honorary doctorate of philosophy by the Punjabi University, Patiala.

Randhawa is also planning to write a couple of books on "Achievements of Punjab sportspersons at national and international level" as part of his three-year fellowship programme, sponsored by Punjabi University, Patiala.
