Yeddyurappa, who spoke to reporters after launching various development works here on Wednesday, said the Assembly session will be held by the end of June. Before the session, the Government’s Sadana Samavesha and felicitation of the newly-elected Gram Panchayat members will be held. With the Legislative Council elections also around the corner, a discussion will be held with the leaders of the party to decide on the Cabinet expansion, he said.

A plan has been made to shift 300 villages in the State which are flood-prone. “This is the first time that rehabilitation work for the flood-affected has been taken up on such a large scale,” he claimed.

He said 5,000 acres of land has been acquired to shift the villages and it has been decided to build 10,000 houses by June end and 60,000 houses before September. Yeddyurappa said it was wrong on the part of the Opposition to criticise the farmers’ convention in Koodalasangama as Sangh Parivar convention. DH News Service
