Man, son drown in Kundapur

A 45-year-old man from Bangalore and his son drowned while taking bath in Sowparnika river on Wednesday evening. Police said Satish, an employee of Nittur Technical Tools Foundation, and Ashish (11) drowned when they got into the river. However, locals saved Satish’s daughter Lavanya (20). Satish’s wife Lakshmi had not got into the water.

Police said the family was proceeding to Goa after darshan at Dharmastala. On the way, they decided to spend some time and play in Arabian sea. After spending some time, the trio went to take bath in the river, which is on the other side of the road.
