Mid-day meals programme to be extended

About 66,580 students will avail mid-day meals facility. During the academic year, the government has revised the ingredients to be given to each child. From first to fifth standard, students must be given 100 gm rice, 20 gram dal, 50 gm vegetables, 5 gm oil and 2 gm salt. The students from sixth to tenth standard will be given 150 gm rice, 30 gm dal, 75 gm vegetables, 7.5 gm oil, 4 gm salt.

The honourarium being paid to the cooks have also been increased to Rs 1,100. In case of any accidental death, the family of the cook will be given a compensation of Rs one lakh and in case of permanent injury, then he will be given a sum of Rs 75,000, said Akshara Dasoha officer Macchado.
