Formed in 2004, the team has won accolades in various art forms in the country and abroad.

The creative team has good mastery over all types of dance forms — Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam, Kathak, contemporary, cinematic and semi-classical dance styles.
The group consists of highly dedicated and talented members who are trained in classical dances, Yoga and Carnatic music. A few of them teach these art forms to students within and outside the campus on a regular basis.

“Our team has won over 60 competitions and bagged the first prize in national-level competitions held at IIT-Kanpur and JIPMER-Pondicherry. The team has also performed on more than 30 prestigious stages,’’ reveals Soujanya, the student co-ordinator for the team.

The fame of ‘Sanskrithi’ has crossed borders and their talents were showcased on international platforms.

The team visited USA in 2008 to perform at Pittsburgh and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. “We performed an ensemble of Indian art forms before the highly enthralled audience at Lord Venkateshwara Temple in Pittsburgh. We were appreciated for assembling the rich Indian cultural heritage in a single dance show,” remembers Soujanya.

The creative bunch of students have displayed their dancing skills at the inauguration ceremony of Innovative Film City, Vasantaragam, Matangi show, the cultural
exchange programme with PES Medical College, Kuppam and in many corporate events.
The repertoire consists of Indian classical dance compositions, popular cinematic dances and innovative contemporary dance forms.

“All dances are inspired from Indian traditional forms and we explore the vast creative platform offered by the modern dance forms,” she adds.

“We ensure that each dance is synchronised to perfection and enthralls the audience, apart from enlightening them on the values of Indian tradition. Hence, the team is contributing to India’s rich ethos and traditions,” says Rachana, a team member.
