Month-long Epic drive from today

All the eligible voters who have been included in the 2009 Lok Sabha election’s assembly constituency list will have to be compulsorily included. Hence the voters are requested to cooperate, said additional deputy commissioner S N Gangadharaiah.

Addressing reporters here on Monday at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, he said, the tahsildar will be given a list of those voters who do not have their photos in the voters’ list.  
The booth-level officers will go to each and every house and distribute forms to the eligible voters till June 10.

The voters should paste the passport size photograph in the space meant for it in the form and return it to the respective booth-level officers before June 15.

They will in turn give the forms to the tahsildar before June 18. The Epic cards will be distributed through the nodal office before June 30, he said.

In the district in all the six assembly constituencies the total number of voters are 10,00,158. In the voters list there 6,53,700 voters photos included. The remaining 3,46,458 photos have to be included in the list, he said.

Bangalore’s Paramount Colour Graphics will do the job of preparing epic photo identity cards and including clicking the photos of the voters.

Suitable direction has been given to all the assembly constituencies’ assistant voters registration officers and voters registration officers assistant commissioners, said Gangadharaiah.

Incentive
The Election Commission will give an incentive of Rs 3,000 to the booth-level officers to include the phots in the voters list. The money has been released.
The booth-level officers who achieve less than 90 per cent target will be given Rs 4 for every Epic card and those who do more than that will be give Rs 5 incentive, he said.
