Manipal Arogya card scheme launched

During the scheme in 2009, there was a total usage of more than 1,35,000 times by the members at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, KMC Hospitals, Mangalore, Dr T M A Pai Hospital, Udupi and Dr T MA Pai Hospital Karkala. The total concession given to the members is Rs 2.8 crore. Giving details of the Manipal Arogya Card Scheme, Dr H S Ballal Pro Chancellor said: “By paying a small sum, anybody can become a member and can avail the facilities. Those interested can become members between June 2 and July 26, 2010”.

Manipal Arogya Card is a unique scheme in which the discounts on treatment can be availed on pre-existing diseases as well.  Applications for the scheme is available at all networked hospitals under Manipal Health Systems and Syndicate Bank branches in Udupi, Mangalore, Shimoga, Uttara Kannada, Davangere, Chitradurga, Chikmagalur, Kodagu and in North Kerala — Kannur and Kasaragod districts in Kerala.  A helpdesk has been set-up at each participating hospital to provide more information about the Manipal Arogya card scheme. A 24 hour helpline — 0820-2571967 or 92435 31639 been set-up.
