BBMP to take up campaign on contagious diseases

Several decisions taken in the meeting with regard to curbing the spread of contagious diseases, include - garbage collection will be made an everyday affair; ensuring cleaner surroundings for the citizens.
The BBMP will not consider any excuse of shortfall for men or machine to collect garbage by the health inspectors and zonal offices.
Preventive measures
Accordingly, the BBMP has said that in case of shortfall of trucks to collect the garbage, auto-tippers and push carts will be hired. To boost the personnel strength, the authorities have been asked to hire men on contract for the collection of waste.
‘Water contamination and stagnation of water in storm water drains will be prevented by the Palike with evening fogging programmes and identification of the water collection points,’ the release added.
