Two die of gastroenteritis

Appaiyanagowda (58) and his granddaughter Roja (13), the victims had returned to their village after attending a marriage of their relative at Talawadi. Since then they had diarrhoea and vomiting. Appaiyanagowda was a chronic TB patient.

The district health officials said Roja, an eighth standard student at Morarji Desai Residential School, died on the way to hospital at Talawadi, while her grandfather died in the evening.
The officials inspected the spot and collected water sample for test. The cause of death will be ascertained only after the report is received, they said.
