Expert students bag top ranks in CET, AIEEE

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday regarding the success of Expert students in various competitive examinations, he said that the new found awareness was created through a conscious effort by Expert group.

As usual students of Expert P U College, and students who received postal coaching from Expert have excelled in CET, COMED-K, AIEEE, IIT-JEE, AFMC, AIPMT and NDA.  About 30 Students of Expert have secured the top 100 CET ranks, 16 have secured top 150 ranks in AIEEE and 7 selected in IIT-JEE.

Kavya Sharath from Bangalore, who received postal coaching from Expert, has written a new epoch in the history of the institution by bagging first rank in both Medical and Engineering category of COMED-K. Shivaraj Patil from Belgaum, a student of Expert P U College, won the third rank in CET Medical, besides getting top ranks in AFMC, AIPMT, IIT-JEE and COMED-K.

The other toppers include Soumya Inamdar from Bijapur, Amrith Kumar Hegde from Shimoga, Amogha P from Mangalore, Vikas Majjagi from Bagalkot, Abhishek R from Shimoga, Kirthi Vardhan from Bellary, Mrinal G Pai from Kanhangad, Abhilash S from Hubli, Anupreetham from Hassan, Deepak Uppin from Davangere, Veena H R from Chikmagalur, Nakul N S from Bangalore, Ullas from Bangalore, Trivikram from Padubidri, Athul I from Shimoga, Narasimha Kulkarni from Raichur, Prajwal Kumar M P from Bhadravathi, Vijeth S from Mysore, Siddharth Nayak K from Mangalore, Sharan Shetty and Pavan Raj.

A noted feature of this year’s results was the considerable increase in the number of toppers from the so-called backward regions of the state and the decline in the number of toppers from Mangalore.

Speaking to mediapersons, Director of the college Usha Prabha Nayak clarified that, students in Mangalore lack awareness ragrding these exams. Also, for them, the proximity of their families is a distraction. “The students staying in the hostel have no such problems.

No family functions to attend, no shopping or roaming except at the week ends. Besides, the students from backward areas seem to be more aware of the expectations on them, while the city based students take everything for granted, while their parents are over protective”, she added.  The toppers along with their parents attended the press meet and spoke on their experiences and aspirations. Director of the college Ustad Rashid Khan was also present on the occasion.
