The Centre is planning to use the services of the Indian Air Force to hunt down Naxals, fearing strikes from the Maoists who on Sunday made a fresh vow to avenge the death of their slain leader Azad.
The fleet of BSF helicopters deployed in Naxal-hit areas will also be augmented. The helicopters will be used for a quick response to reinforcement and rescue needs. Central security forces and Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand governments are scouting for safe helipad locations.
