Palemar meets Lokayukta

The minister is in the controversy over recommending suspension of Karwar Deputy Conservator of Forests R Gokul, who was investigating into the case of iron ore missing from Belekeri port.

The minister discussed the developments over vanishing of the close to five lakh tonnes of iron ore from the port with the Lokayukta.

Later, Palemar told pressmen that certain quantity of iron ore had been exported illegally. But it had been difficult to assess the exact quantity of ore thus exportedy. The records with the Port Department were not matching with those of the Forest Department, he said.

JD(S) State president H D Kumaraswamy also met the Lokayukta. State Human Rights Commission Chairman Justice S R Nayak expressed his happiness  about the withdrawal of resignation.
