Recruitments to 325 posts in VTU

 Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, VTU Vice-Chancellor Dr Maheshappa said 325 posts in the varsity will be filled up soon.

The VC disclosed that the VTU stands 14th in the country in terms of quality of education and management.

“We are putting efforts to see that the VTU becomes one of the top ten varsities in the world through research and development. A sum of Rs five crore has been earmarked for research work,” he revealed. The university will be synchronised with the industries in the country.

Dr Maheshappa said regional centres of VTU have been set up at four places in the State - Bangalore, Mysore, Belgaum and Gulbarga. One more centre will be opened in Mangalore soon. Emphasis will be laid on research and development at all the five centres. All efforts will be made to secure patents for path-breaking research work by students, he elaborated.

The VC, who inspected the valuation centre at BIET college in the City, said approval has been granted for setting up a centralised valuation centre in the City six years ago and 25 acres of land has been earmarked for the building. The construction will begin soon.

He revealed that a higher technical study centre is being set up at Muddenahalli in Chikkaballapur taluk, the birth place of M Visvesvaraiah. The centre is coming up on sprawling extent of 300 acres and ground-breaking ceremony has already been performed.
