Man jumps into Sankey tank, ends life

According to police, the deceased, Venkatesh, a resident of Swimming Pool extension in Malleswaram, was suffering from a psychological disorder for the last few months. He left home in the afternoon without informing anyone and  jumped into the tank. The fire force personnel retrieved the body.

Bike thief nabbed

Kadugondanahalli police arrested a person in connection with vehicle theft and recovered 11 bikes worth Rs four lakh from him.

The accused has been identified as Gowrishankar (23), a resident of IISc campus in Sadashivanagar.

Police said, he lifted bikes using duplicate keys from Yashwanthpur, Hebbal, Vidyaranyapura, Kodigehalli, Sanjayanagar and surrounding areas. He was working with Reliance company and two cases were registered against him in connection with bike-lifting cases in Sadashivanagar and Gangammanagudi police limits.

Constable attacked

A few miscreants attacked a Girinagar police constable on Sunday afternoon, at Hosakere Cross.

The victim, Govindaraju, a resident of Byatarayanpura, got into a BMTC bus, to attend to his duties.

He noticed a few miscreants standing on the footboard, talking aloud.

He requested them to get inside the bus, but the miscreants ignored him.

When Govindaraju got down at Hosakere Cross, the miscreants followed and bashed him up. A case has been registered with Girinagar police.
