Submit homeless people's list within 15 days, GPs told

While observing the Panchayat development works in Chikmagalur constituenecy on Thursday, he called upon the persons concerned to help to reach government’s facilities to all persons in the society. “We have already identified 400 homeless families. The government has decided to construct additional houses in this region and there is a necessity to give more emphasis on those who lack houses. Attempts to provide houses to those who don’t deserve will be strictly opposed,” he said.

He also informed that when Panchayat officers were questioned for not submitting the homeless citizens list in Allampura and Machenahalli Panchayat, they tried to flee from the issue by giving false reasons. Adding to it, he insisted not to insert the names of those who are under 18 years of age or who are expired, while granting job card under MGNREGS.

“Keeping this in mind, a revised list must be prepared and the cards must be redistributed. Action plan should be prepared on priority basis,” informed the MLA. He said that he has come across few complaints of billings done in the absence of work. So he warned of charges that might be filed for the incompletion of work during the time of land inspection.
As the water flows towards the residential areas from atop the hills in Atthigundi and Mahal villages which come under the jurisdiction of I D Peetha Panchayath, he directed the PDO to construct the water canals on priority basis. “There are instances of fake billings and the implementation of works after the submission of complaints in places like Lakumanahalli and Moogthihalli, inspection of works must undergo in these places,” he insisted the PDO and engineer. There have been complaints of not implementing works in Siravase Panchayath. “The amount for the development works are to be distributed on priority basis without any partiality,” he insisted.
