Website to pay consumer for missed flight

K N Vijaya Simha purchased two air tickets online from this website for return journey from Detroit to Chicago. But they missed the flight because they were not informed that the departure timing had been changed. They were forced to travel by another airline by paying Rs 5,000 for the tickets.

The website claimed that they should have checked the internet to get the new timings but the consumer forum President D Krishnappa found both the website and the Branch Manager M Ramachandran guilty of deficient service.

Trip to Greece

Shivakumrai Dhanraj and her daughter Amoolya had paid up Rs 1,59,429 each to Kesari Tours & Travels Pvt Ltd to organise a trip to Egypt, Greece and Turkey.

They could only visit Turkey and Egypt as they had problems with a visa to Greece. But the travel firm refused to refund the extra money spent by them in trying to get the visas on their own. The badly organised trip caused them inconvenience and extra costs, they said. The court has ordered the firm to pay up Rs 50,000 to each of them.

Omkar Estates

Two complainants have urged this Forum to help them regain their money from 13 directors of Omkar Estate Pvt Ltd Builders and Developers, who have been promising sites to lucky dip winners, cash certificates and other benefits which were not given.
Finding all 13 directors guilty of deficient service, the IV Forum has ordered them to refund Rs 92,000 to A Ramachandra and Shanthamma.

They have also been told to pay up Rs 62,000 as developmental charges to the second complainant.
