Man arrested for attacking duty doctor

Sharabhaiah of Kadujakkasandra village, Harohalli, had admitted his daughter at the Kanakapura general hospital for delivery.

Dr Veena who attended to her told Sharabhaiah that she had to perform a Caesarean section on his daughter and asked him to pay Rs 500, as per the government rules.

Got irked

Sharabhaiah got irritated with the doctor’s demand and began abusing her. He also tried to attack her, when other male colleagues - Dr Shailesh and Dr K P Paramesh tried to protect Dr Veena. Sharabhaiah tried to assault them also.

Following a complaint from the doctors, the police arrested him. He has been remanded into judicial custody and sent to Ramanagara jail.
