The meeting, attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, identified price rise, failed Indo-Pak talks, killings by naxals,  frequent train accidents as some of the major issues which maybe highlighted by the Opposition.

The discussions also focused on how to combat the Opposition and favoured a meeting with the UPA constituents. It was also pointed out that the meeting of all party leaders convened by the Lok Sabha Speaker on the eve of the beginning of the session would be a good occasion to impress upon them the inevitability of some of decisions such as oil price hike.
