The two sisters will be conferred the title at the ‘Sadas’ on January 1, 2011, the culmination of the 84th Annual Conference of the Music Academy in Chennai which will commence on Dec 15 this year, N Murali, the President of the Academy, said in a statement.
Indian-born Nobel Laureate Dr Venkatraman Ramakrishnan will preside over the Awards ceremony, coinciding with the ‘Sadas’ that day. Other awards include the ‘Sangita Kala Acharya’ Awards to Mrs Suguna Varadachari (vocalist) and Mrs Rhadha (dance guru).
