Sadiq ton props up City XI

Bangalore Zone hold edge against Presidents XI

In pursuit of Combined XI’s 241, City, at a somewhat wobbly 57/2 overnight, found their hero in Kirmani, son of former India great and stumper Syed Kirmani. The youngster slammed 113 (156b, 18x4, 1x6) as City took second day’s honours, finishing their innings at 326 all out in 98 overs and eking out a lead of 85 runs. Besides Kirmani, City were also propped up by Pawan (74), K Gautham (54) and Akshay SL (34).

BN Bharath was the most successful bowler for Combined with figures of 4/87 while S Arvind and Udit Patel picked up two each.

City XI then straightaway put their rivals on to the back foot with paceman P Magizhendan prising out two batsmen and reducing Combined to 38/3.In another match at NRA, play lasted for only 51.1 overs during which time Bangalore Zone strengthened their position against President’s XI. Overnight 291/7, Bangalore were all out for 354 in 97.1 overs after Abbar Kazi (34) and Ryan Ninan (38) came up with useful cameos. President’s, in reply, were at a shaky 79/3 in 32.1 overs when play was stopped due to rain. Sunil Raju was holding hope for the President’s with an unbeaten 57.
