It can be recalled that the minister had announced that there will be no new water connection since there was scarcity of water. Also, BWSSB has to cater to the water needs of more than six lakh consumers in the City.
Most of the builders’ projects are located on the outskirts of the City, mainly in the new BBMP areas, where water connection is scheduled to be given only in 2012. But the problem has arisen for those companies which have apartments/establishments in the existing BWSSB limits (ie areas minus new BBMP areas), which have applied for new water connections after May 2010.
“My apartments are coming up in Mahadevapura area and I know I will not be supplied with water for another two years,” said a builder.
