Mishap: Seven from Bijapur killed in Ahmednagar

The deceased have been identified as jeep driver Prabhakar Mallikarjun Hoshatti (22) of Ballolli village, Indi taluk, Raju Kallappa Khadri (35) of the same village, Govind Maruti Shindhe (37), Bheemashya Siddappa Kagara (45) of Jhalaki, Namadeva Neelappa Kagara (45), Prahlad Siddappa Loni (45) and Rajkumar Babu Biradar (35), said District Additional Superintendent of Police F A Trasgar.

Ballolli Gram Panchayat member Lakshmana Mareppa Agasara (35), Raju Nadaf of Chadachana, Sreeshaila Haralaiah (37) of Anjutagi village, Vithal Kagara of Jhalaki and Mahadeva Kagara are the injured.

The condition of Lakshmana and Raju is said to be critical, said the police sources here.
The victims - residents of Indi taluk - had left for Shirdi in a jeep on Wednesday.  Their vehicle collided with a lorry near Banathinthini, Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra killing the seven on the spot.

The impact of the mishap was such that the jeep had been completely crushed making the rescue work difficult, said the sources.
