A Imran Khan-steered Magisterial, trained by Ganapathy, comfortably took home the Bangalore Summer Million (Grade III) over 1600 metres, the plum event of Sunday’s races here.

Yas Marina, ridden by Chris Alford, made the early running closely followed by Magisterial in second and the rest of the field not far behind. At the home stretch Harish-ridden Aztec Gold made a move and jumped into the front of the pack along with Magisterial, with Yas Marina now in third.

Magisterial and Aztec Gold went head-to-head for about a hundred metres, but the MAM Ramaswamy-owned horse had a little too much in him, pulling away at last few metres to take the race by well over a length.
