Rotary plans innovative programmes

Speaking to presspersons, he informed that the Rotary district comprises of 8 revenue districts and 130 clubs with 45,000 Rotarians. The theme for this year is ‘Future is in your hands.’ The programmes that are being introduced for the year include ‘autism and learning disability.’ The aim of the project is to create awareness about the disorder so that the condition can be detected early and treatment can be given. “Water conservation and harvesting,” “Student-parent insurance and pre hospitalisation and disaster management,” are other projects. Under the student-parent programme, a child who loses his/her parent will be assured Rs 25,000 for education. The Rotary  has raised $ 355 million fund for the purpose of charitable works. Besides, the organisation will also launch the pulse polio programme.
