Unnati welfare scheme launched

The scheme provides a BSNL sim card, a basic computer literacy course for one member of the family and a personal accident insurance policy for the head of the family with a disability cover worth Rs 1 lakh. This will be available at a initial price of Rs 105 per year.
The phone scheme is being offered with BSNL, while the accident insurance scheme is being offered in association with Tata AIG.

The scheme will be rolled out during the ration card distribution process.CEO of Comat Technologies Sriram Raghavan said, they hoped to enroll about 25 lakh families in the State.
