The taste is no different from what is cooked and served at home.'STB Foods Hotel' situated in Vijayanagar 6th Main is known to serve authentic North Karnataka food, especially the meals. Rotti oota, Chapathi oota and holige oota are quite popular here.  “Before starting this full-fledged hotel, we had a small parcel counter and a catering service. We named it after goddess ‘Shri Tulja Bhavani’,” says R Patil, the owner.
Patil always had a passion for cooking. “I started it as a hobby and now it has become my profession. I am very particular while choosing the cooks.

I train them for few days, and only then allow them inside the kitchen,” says Patil, an experienced cook.

The best thing about ‘STB Foods’ is that it makes rice in a different way, quite unlike the way it is made in other hotels. “We cook rice in a little extra water and when the rice is ready, drain off the excess water. I think we are the only ones to prepare rice in bulk in this manner because it is very good for health,” he says further clarifying that they never
use soda while preparing rice. The varieties of holiges include: bele holige and shenga holige which are cooked in traditional North Karnataka flavour. The meal is served with rotti, chapathi or holige along with three types of curries, papad, curd and a ricebath. The curries contain less spice and the taste changes everyday.

The chief chef Bheema says cooking is all about mixing the ingredients in proper proportion. The 'STB Foods' is packed with all kinds of people from different localities who don’t mind travelling far and wide from Koramangala, J P Nagar, Indiranagar
and other places just to relish North Karnataka flavour.

The hotel opens at noon and closes at 10.30 pm. More than half the customers are regulars and the owner proudly says that none of them complain about the quality.
“I have been to the place many a times. All the workers here are friendly and make me feel like home.

I usually don’t eat from outside but I have had no problems after eating
here. They literally serve homely and natural food,” says Adarsh, a professional.
