During his visit to the CET counselling centre at BVB College of Engineering and Technology (BVBCET) here on Thursday, he told reporters that awareness had been created among MLAs, through a training camp, about holding meaningful discussions in the session.

Result of the training was seen in the Belgaum session, which witnessed discussion of more pro-people issues and less protests. About eight resolutions were approved, he recalled.

Opportunity will be given to first-time MLAs to participate in the discussion on a priority basis. A committee headed by Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker had been inquiring about corruption charges against MLA Sampangi, and action will be taken after the committee submitted its report, he stated.

The CET counselling was being held for the first time in North Karnataka, and BVBCET had provided a good opportunity for students. Counselling process was also transparent, he added.

MP Prahlad Joshi, MLA Veerabhadrappa Halaharavi, BVBCET Principal Ashok Shettar, CET Co-ordinator (North Karnataka) Alka Kulkarni and others were present.
