Speaking to reporters in Shimoga on Monday, he said, a meeting will be convened soon in Bangalore to select strong candidates.
The two-year rule of the BJP government in the State and the Anti-Cow Slaughter Bill will ensure the party’s victory in the by-elections, he added.
Succumbing to the pressure of the Congress and JD(S), Governor H R Bhardwaj has sent the beef ban Bill to the President, instead of approving it despite being passed in both the houses of the Legislature, he observed.
‘We won’t reply’
In response to Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah’s demand to furnish the amount spent on the BJP convention, Eshwarappa replied: “Who is he to seek the details? The BJP government is not entitled to reply to his query,” he added.
The Congress should look into irregularities and discrepancies in their party instead of demanding accounts from us, he added.
