Addressing media in the city on Wednesday, Shivananjappa, a soldier with Indian Army posted at Rajasthan, alleged that his father Shivanna was done to death on July 8.
Shivanna was returning home on his two-wheeler on that ill-fated night when he was hacked to death by Srinivas of Saligrama and his supporters.
The incident occurred near Malalikatte near Honnenahalli and Lakkikuppe Koppal in Saligrama hobli in K R Nagar taluk in the district. Shivanna’s wife Gangamma in her complaint to the police had smelled the handiwork of Srinivas and his men.
However, according to another opinion, Jayanna of Saligrama is also said to be involved behind the murder.
Complaint
A separate complaint has also been lodged against him. But, it doesn’t seem to enough for the police to act as they are still dithering over the complaints, Shivananjappa alleged.
Shivananjappa levelled a grave allegation on MLA Sa Ra Mahesh accusing him of supporting Srinivas, a prime suspect in the case. “Srinivas rubs shoulder with the MLA and hence the latter is exerting pressure on the cops to not to arrest the former’, alleged Shivananjappa.
The issue has been already brought to the notice of Governor, Chief Minister IGP, SP and Dy SP, but to no avail.
Shivananjappa has returned home on leave following his father’s murder.
He will be launching aggressive protest in front of the office of Tahsildar. Several organisations including Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Jaya Karnataka have already extended their support to him.
