Delay in works is an insult to Devaraj Urs: MLA Tanveer Sait

 
He was speaking at the 95th birth anniversary celebrations of D Devaraj Urs organised under the joint aegis of District Administration, Department of Backward Classes and Social Welfare at Town Hall in the city.

Sait said, though an amount of Rs five crore was allocated in the budget of 2004-05 for the development of Kallahalli, it is yet to become a reality, thanks to the works that have stopped midway.

MLC Chikkamadu recalled his proximity with Urs in the last days of the latter. Till Urs became Chief Minister of the State, only SC and ST availed reservation facilities. Urs extended it to backward classes also, thus earning the name ‘champion of backward classes’, he said.
Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta, MLA M Satyanarayan and others were present.
