High energy on display

Jain College, Jayanagar celebrated Udbhava 2010, their college fest recently. The theme Udbhava, signifying the beginning of a new venture, witnessed enthralling performances and added a new meaning to the fest’s tagline ‘Pulse of Ignited Minds’.

The events held included ‘Tangible Timbre’ (classical duet), ‘Silent Beats’ (dumb charades), ‘Buzzing Blizzard’ (business quiz), ‘Cherubic Jingles’ (folk dance), ‘Psychosonic Jingles’ (spot fine), ‘Acoustic Auroras’ (Jain idol Round) and ‘Tuning Tides’ (Western dance), a rock show by Polaris, ‘Crysptic Crackers’ (science quiz), ‘Rising Reverbation’ (brand makeover), ‘Beat of Passion’ (contemporary dance), ‘Banging Aviator’
(personality hunt) and ‘Resonant Ramp’ (ethnic parade).

The guests of honour were Chenraj Jain, Chairman, The JGI Group, and B T Venkatesh, Principal, Jain College Jayanagar. Students from various departments of the college were given an opportunity to showcase their talents.

Udbhava also provided a springboard for participants to hone their skills for the forthcoming inter-collegiate festival. As the excitement levels soared, the audience fastened their seatbelts for the ‘Tangible Timbre’ — a classical duet competition.
‘The Silent Beats’ — the dumb charades, followed next. The business quiz received great applause from the audience.

‘Psychosonic’ saw the students metamorphosing into inanimate characters and innovatively personifying them. The biggest event of the Jain College, which was intensely awaited for, was ‘The Acoustic Auroras’.

The reverberation of music echoed with the performance of ‘The Turning Tides’, the Western dance group. The participants rendered sizzling Bollywood numbers and foot-tapping Hollywood beats to be the ‘Jain Idol’. Preethi and Lavanya of
I PUC became the ‘Jain Idols’ while the runners-up were Bharat and Amritha of I B Com.
The most awaited event, ‘Banging Aviators’, drew great applause.

The hunt for the ‘Mr/Ms Personality’ came to an end with much cheer for Mohammed Abrar of PCME, A section.

He earned the title ‘Mr Personality’ of Jain College, Jayanagar, for his creativity, dynamism, intelligence, diplomacy and the right attitude.The ultimate feast for the eyes was the ‘Resonant Ramp’.

It was a kaleidoscope of colours representing various cultures of vibrant India. Sweety of ABEM and Laksha of ABMS represented the tradition and richness of Gujarat and were the winners. Giving a slice of the valour of Punjab were Harpreet Kaur and Arjun of ABES who were the runners-up of the competition.

In the classic duet section, the first place was won by Ananya, the second place by Shreya Singh and the third place by Deepti.  In the ‘Dumb Charades’, the first place was bagged by Aishwarya Raj and the second place by Hussain. In the business quiz, the first place was won by Devanshu, the second place by Muyeed.

In the folk dance section, the first place went to Raksha and the second place to Tejaswini.  In the ‘Cryptic Crackers’, the first place went to Sachin and Sankreeth of 1 PUC.  The ‘Beat of Passion’ event was won by Gouri and group of I PUC.
