Last Updated 19 June 2009, 17:17 IST

Due to the imposition of code of conduct during the Lok Sabha elections many development works had to be stalled. Many cases have piled up in almost all the departments as even the routine work was affected due to the imposition of code. Even after lifting of the imposition little progress has been made in clearing pending cases, he has said in the circular.

All the officials should accord top priority to development. Though this has been repeatedly convened in the meetings and also convened directly to the officials, there is little progress on the ground. In the meantime the incidents of some of the officers trying go on leave, have been noted seriously, the circular stated.

The officers who have sent leave applications without prior intimation and are absenting themselves from the work, a proposal would be given to government to take strict action against them, it added.

No leave would be granted to any officer or employee. However some of the officers have attested doctor’s certificate along with the leave application. These certificates would be sent to Medical Board for verification and action will be taken against those found guilty.

The government officers and employees in the district should work efficiently. Those who have performed their duties well would be recommended for appreciation letter.
